Todd Crosland has been involved in businesses and entrepreneurship ever since he graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Finance.
In 2007, Todd Crosland was awarded the Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Utah and New Mexico region. His award came in the Financial/Insurance services category. Mr. Crosland was recognized for his service in bringing success and innovation to Utah’s financial sector with his company, Interbank FX, LLC (IBFX).
The Ernst and Young Award looks for entrepreneurs that have developed dynamic companies that continue vast levels of growth on local and international scales. Todd Crosland was selected from a panel of judges as the winner from a pool of almost 60 nominees.
In 1990, Mr. Crosland was the CFO and Vice President of Finance for a medical device business called Surgical Technologies, Inc. He assisted in taking it public on the Nasdaq and sold the company in 1996. In 1992, he founded a real estate development company, TBC, LC. They developed over 1000 residential lots in Utah with revenues of over $160 Million. Their biggest project was Wolf Creek Ranch, which was a 14,000-acre project close to Park City, Utah.
In 2000, Mr. Crosland started the company that won him the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Interbank FX. He started the company with only stocks and options trading, and a year later, developed it to do currency trading as well. They hired programmers and developed the technology so that it could be available to the general public in 2003. The company grew to over 40,000 customers in 150 different countries with a trading volume of approximately $1 Trillion. They support a trading volume of over $70 Billion per month.
